Kailan Leaves (Chinese Broccoli) Dishes - My Own Invention

So I have been harvesting my own Kailan leaves or Chinese Broccoli for a few weeks now and I've been inventing dishes for this kind of vegetable since. I wanted something not so oily so I try to avoid the stir fry kind.

Here's what I first came up with:

Eating My Own Harvest = One Healthy Meal

I've shared on my projects blog before that I've already been harvesting my own Kangkong and Okra. Just recently, my Tomatoes and Eggplant have started bearing fruits, and this morning, I've also harvested my own green peppers (sili). Suffice it to say, that soon, I'll be pretty much eating my own harvest on a more regular basis (I hope) but for now, here's what I prepared for lunch:

Strawberry Salad with Chicken Bits

This has been my diet for the past week, well, since I got back from Baguio basically. I bought some lettuce and strawberries so I really have no choice but to eat them. The other day, I ordered some dishes from Chic-Boy, one of which was a whole roasted chicken, that I haven't finished yet so you can also see chicken bits in my strawberry salad.

Our Simple Noche Buena

We didn't visit our family or spent Christmas anywhere but home. It was just the two of us so we figured, there's really no need to prepare that much food. We only had four dishes plus a bottle of fruit wine. The food lasted for two days and we were both happy, which was what mattered the most. Anyway, we just want to share here the four simple dishes we had on Christmas Eve. We won't be sharing the recipes of our two favorites at this time (the pasta and the lamb chops) because they're very special and taste sooooo good that someday, we might be able to make a living out of it, who knows?! Do check out our video blog on Christmas Eve.

Wimpex Oven Toaster Grill Rotisserie

Over the weekend, my husband and I treated ourselves with a brand new mini oven that can bake, toast, grill and practically cook anything. This Wimpex oven has space for extra large capacity of up to 30 liters and my husband, Peter, couldn't be any happier. It uses AC 220V/60Hz 1500W.

Peter will test it this coming Saturday. He plans to cook up a feast by baking some chicken and salmon. But then I couldn't wait. I was craving for some grilled vegetables and baked scrambled egg so yesterday, I used it.

I always eat one egg a day. Yesterday, I scrambled one and added a bit of fresh milk, salt, pepper and Italian herbs in it. I poured the mixture on a bakeware and placed it inside the oven.

Whopper Tuna Sandwich

Every time I want to go on a diet (meaning, I try not to eat rice), I make myself some sandwich. But see, I have a huge appetite and one tiny sandwich won't be enough. So, what I do is make one huge sandwich as long as I make sure that I use wheat bread and fill it with a healthy tuna spread in between the slices of toasted or grilled wheat bread.

Here's how the tuna spread is done (while toasting or grilling the wheat bread).
