7-Day Juice Cleanse Diet: The Rest of the Recipe

This one is called Red Dawn
This is officially my 6th day on this juice cleanse diet. Whew!
I've already blogged about  Day 1 Breakfast and Day 1 Lunch. But I must admit that I never really stuck to this diet alone (sorry!) because... well... I really felt so hungry!  Oops! Although I did manage to just eat a cup of rice, a bunch of microwaved green leafy vegetable (saluyot and kangkong), 1 egg and 1 small baked milkfish which lasted me one whole day each day of this diet. It's still pretty healthy albeit limited. Plus one egg a day prevents breast cancer by 12%!, did you know that? I read that somewhere before...  And when I need to work all night, I just make a veggie and tuna sandwich with cheese (So I guess I can really never go Vegan... I just love egg and cheese so much!) The rest of the time, I was taking my vegetable and fruit shakes. The regular food was just there when I really can't take the hunger pangs anymore. Coz when I get hungry, I get gassy and my tummy blows up like a balloon. That's one of the downside of having GERD which is why I can never manage to get a flat tummy no matter what I do. But lo and behold, after Day 3 on this juice cleanse thing (coupled with one regular meal per day), my tummy does look a bit flat these days.  Plus I lost a few pounds too! Yey! It also helps that I've also been caffeine-free for 6 days now which means less acidity in my stomach therefore less gas and less bloatedness. I wish to continue that. I feel so much better without caffeine in my system! I feel more alive and awake! Weird huh? Well, that's coz the enzymes from the fruits and vegetables I've been ingesting are giving me so much nutrients that my body really needs.
Anyway, I'll share with you here the rest of the recipe for the 7 Day Juice Cleanse. If you have enough discipline in yourself to stick to it, please do. Don't be like me so you can experience all the healthful benefits it has to offer. As for me, at least my body is getting used to it now. I've been craving less and less for the usual food I eat which is a good sign. I'll continue incorporating the vegetable and fruit shakes in my diet  and perhaps one day I'll just be surprised that I've given up fish, rice and dairy too. (^_^)
This one's called Dr. Oz's Green Drink

Check out my previous posts for the first two recipes:
7-Day Juice Cleanse Day 1 Breakfast
7-Day Juice Cleanse Day 1 Lunch

Some tips:
  • I usually add water so it's easier to blend.
  • When it gets bitter for my taste I put a little honey.

7-Day Juice Cleanse Day 1 Lunch

I've started with the Juice Cleanse yesterday. However, I've encountered some minor booboos along the way. Please bear with me. I'm only human after all...

7-Day Juice Cleanse Day 1 Breakfast

I've been eating pretty healthily for a long time now. Though I haven't shared here my latest food inventions (they're mostly on my personal facebook account - please like also my public facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/thesexynomad), trust me when I say that I eat mostly vegetables these days. I seldom eat meat except for the occasional hotdogs when I am running out of fish or running out of time to cook anything decent but that's just once in a while, hehehe.

But don't worry, I am reviving my food blog and I'll be posting here once again the dishes I make which are also perfect for people who are very busy like me but would like to know what quick healthy meals (and sometimes not-so-healthy... blame it on my cravings!) to prepare that can last a whole day.

For now, I just want to start sharing here this 7-Day Juice Cleanse diet given to me by Quennie. She's the same friend of mine who invited me to join the 2-week International Youth Seminar and Meditation Retreat in Taiwan back in 2012 and now she's inviting me to come visit her resort once again, Natura Vista in Bohol, for a Raw Food Detox and Mindfulness Retreat this coming October 24. Unfortunately, my next visit to the Visayas region won't be until March next year. So I asked her if she could give me the recipes of the diet she's been using which transformed her from being sexy and fab to being super sexy and mega fab! And she gladly sent it to me. Thanks so much Quennie!!! And now I'm going to start sharing them with you.

Cafe Antonio in Dumaguete

Cafe Antonio is one of the food places I go to every time I am in Dumaguete. It used to be just a simple cafe until it developed into a full blown restaurant, a full-fledged Coffee house and Resto so to speak and now goes by the name Cafe Antonio Coffee and Resto. They offer  a variety of gourmet dishes (Spanish, Filipino, Italian, American) aside from coffee, shakes , burgers and sandwiches.

According to their facebook page

"One of the best dining experience you can have in this quaint but beautiful city of Dumaguete. A full-fledged resto and coffee house in one place. Experience Dumaguete. Experience Cafe Antonio."

Scooby's and The Bean Connection, Dumaguete City

The first time I went to Scooby's with my hubby Peter, I ordered their spaghetti and I couldn't forget it since. It was one of the best tasting fastfood spaghetti I had so far, competing with my love for Jollibee's spaghetti.  hehehe. So of course, when I went to Scooby's this month, I once again ordered their spaghetti and as usual, I was satisfied. It's sweet and tomatoey at the same time, just the way I like my spaghetti. But that's not all. I went again twice, with my bessy Hanz, for lunch and for dinner. We were both on a tight budget and were looking for affordable and seemingly home-cooked meals. The canteen-like dishes offered at Scooby's were good enough for us. They were filling and quite tasty too.

Sans Rival in Dumaguete

  • Main branch: located at #1 San Jose St. (from 9:00 am - 7:30 pm Mon-Sun); 035-225-4440
  • Bistro: along Rizal Blvd. cor. San Jose St. (10:00 am - 11:00 pm Sun-Thurs); 10:00 pm - 12:00 mn (Fri-Sat)
  • Robinson's Place: Dumaguete Business Park and IT Plaza, Ground Flr (from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm (Mon-Fri); 10:00 am to 9:00 pm (Sat-Sun); 035-226-3506

Trattoria Uma: A must try in Bacolod

Trattoria Uma is one of the restaurants my husband and I tried when we visited Bacolod. It was dinner time and we wanted to rest early. So we just ordered pizza which we then brought to our hotel. I forgot what exactly the name of this pizza is (if you know, please do leave a comment) but it's thin crust with lots of arugula. It was quite tasty and priced at around Php450.00. They have other scrumptious dishes in their menu but some of it were a bit expensive for our budget, hence, the pizza.

Breakfast at Cafe Breton

Sometimes, when Peter and I have nothing better to do on a Saturday or Sunday morning, we'd head off to Westgate in Alabang and have breakfast or brunch at one of the restaurants there. This particular weekend, we decided to once again visit one of our favorites -- Cafe Breton. Instead of the usual crepes, we tried their savoury galettes.

I ordered Galette Bretonne (Php267.00) which has spinach, shrimps sauteed with crab meat, fresh cream, and gruyere cheese.

Caramia Decadent Chocolate Cake

For our 10th wedding anniversary, aside from having dinner at Barcino during our anniversary weekend, Peter bought me this decadent chocolate cake from Caramia. This has got to be one of the best-tasting chocolate cakes I've ever had!
