It's been years since we last dined in Cafe Juanita in Pasig. I know they have a new branch here in Burgos Circle at The Fort, Taguig and Peter and I have always wanted to try it. So when one of our friends went home from Jakarta, we decided that Cafe Juanita is the perfect place to meet up. I'm sure our friend, Lora, has been dying to eat Filipino dishes once again and Cafe Juanita offers one of the best Filipino and Asian fusion dishes.
Lily was also with us who is staying in the country for two years before she trots the globe once again with her American husband, Greg. Our best friend John and his pretty girlfriend, Monica joined us too. It was such a fun night with old friends like no time has passed.
When we got inside Cafe Juanita's branch in Burgos Circle, I was amazed at how colorful and vibrant the decorations were. There were lamps made of multi-colored clothing, lots of tiny Christmas lights, a huge capiz chandelier and lots of wooden furniture. Beside Cafe Juanita is an Italian restaurant. There was also a Spanish restaurant after that. We checked all the menus of these establishments but ended up going back to Cafe Juanita. I think we picked the best choice!
I can no longer remember the exact name of the dishes we ordered. But they were all delish! We had a feast of Filipino dishes! Here they are:
Pochero
Grilled Tofu with Pesto and Salad
Mango Salad
Lamb
Rum Cake w/ Vanilla Ice Cream
Sansrival
Cassava Cake
I swear, when the night was over, Peter and I were sugar crashing on our way home! Everything was so delicious we bet we'd go back there for more! And when we do, we'll surely order brewed coffee to cap it all off.
Bon appetit!
