Pasta in McCormick Creamy Garlic Sauce and Tuna

I personally think that instant food is awesome. A lot of times, with just the slightest bit of effort, you can easily punch up something instant and come up with a really nice dish. One of our favorite instant food ingredients is McCormick's line of instant powdered pasta sauces. Granted, you can simply follow the instructions on the packet and you'd end up with something ok. Or you could try out the following recipe instead. It's really yummy and it only takes about 15 minutes to prepare.

Here's how we did it...

Grilled Tuna Sandwich with Roasted Bell Pepper

Like what I said on my previous blog post, I am now trying eat more healthily whenever I can. I also try to cut back on ice cream and Coke because sugar is just simply bad for the body. I read in a health magazine before that a table spoon of sugar reduces the body's defense mechanism at 12%! So if I eat lots and lots of sweets, I can actually shut my body down. No wonder I feel lethargic, lazy and sleepy whenever I have one of those ice cream flavors and chocolates I like.

Oh well. Like they say, if you wanna live long, you have to eat less.
So today,Peter and I had a healthy and scrumptious grilled tuna sandwich with roasted bell pepper.

Here's how we did it:

What Have I Been Cooking Lately?

I took up a monster work schedule the past month and it's only now that I am able to recover a little more quality time for myself and for my cooking. And on those rare occasions that I or my hubby was able to prepare something to eat, I enjoyed each and every dishes we made. We also made sure that they're all healthy and delicious at the same time. Let me share with you those few home-cooked dishes I had. The rest of the time, I was either eating out , cooking the same dishes, or munching on fruits, raw vegetables, and chocolates. ^_^

Homemade Tacos with Tuna and Veggies

As you probably know, I seldom have the time to cook these days.  I'm so busy  with the jobs I took online that the only moment I can eat is when I can munch on a fruit, a vegetable, some chips and cookies, and some sandwiches in between breaks just to sustain my energy levels. Sometimes, when my husband still has the energy for it, he prepares some easy-to-do meals for me. On this particular day, my hubby made me some homemade tacos with tuna and veggies.

If you want to do this, just get two pieces of pita bread,  fold each one softly and toast  them for about 1 minute in an oven toaster. If it's still not as crunchy as you would like it to be, you can toast it for another 20 seconds.

On a separate bowl, mix together a can of tuna,  a little bit of mayonnaise, slices of tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, salt, pepper and Italian herbs. Put about 3 table spoons of this mixture in  each of your toasted pita bread then sprinkle some grated Edam cheese. Voila --- you now have a tacos!

Bon appetit!
