The first time I went to Scooby's with my hubby Peter, I ordered their spaghetti and I couldn't forget it since. It was one of the best tasting fastfood spaghetti I had so far, competing with my love for Jollibee's spaghetti. hehehe. So of course, when I went to Scooby's this month, I once again ordered their spaghetti and as usual, I was satisfied. It's sweet and tomatoey at the same time, just the way I like my spaghetti. But that's not all. I went again twice, with my bessy Hanz, for lunch and for dinner. We were both on a tight budget and were looking for affordable and seemingly home-cooked meals. The canteen-like dishes offered at Scooby's were good enough for us. They were filling and quite tasty too.

Instant Cappuccinos and Lattes from Kopiko and Good Day
I used to drink brewed coffee before by the liter. It' really no wonder why I had GERD. Coffee is very, very acidic and if it's the only thing you've had in a 24-hour period, done over a prolonged period of time, you'd really get sick like I did.
So it's been a while (since October last year) since I had coffee especially the brewed kind. But since I turned 34, I've been craving to have a taste of my favorite food and drinks once again. Perhaps if I do it in moderation this time, I'll be okay.
So I started my forbidden adventure with instant coffee. But it's not just any other instant coffee, it has to be the cappuccino or latte kind. It's great timing that we discovered two instant coffee brands that seemed to be good for me (meaning I'm not experiencing any heartburn or acid reflux after drinking a cup) --- Kopiko's Kopiccino and Good Day's Vanilla Latte, Chococinno and Mocacinno.

Halfmoon Cafe: Infuckingcredible Bibingcrepe and Nomnoms
While portmanteaus such as "jeggings" and "skorts" suck horribly, most of the time, portmanteaus are actually pretty damn awesome. In fact, some of the most amazing things are portmanteaus!

If you haven't been able to guess yet, I absofuckinglutely love portmanteaus. I mean, you take two (or more) ordinary things, you combine them and make them far more incredible than just the sum of their parts. Which leads us to last Tuesday, when Jen and I found ourselves in Halfmoon Asian Cafe, home of one of the coolest portmanteaus out there, the bibingcrepe, one part bibingka, one part crepe, all parts awesome!
The bibingcrepe has the same fluffiness of the traditional Filipino delicacy and the creamy goodness of the French pancake. According to Gilette Garcia, the VP for operations of Halfmoon Asian Cafe, (and the Bluewater Day spa! AND 55 Events Place! Seriously this guy is so boss!) they are the first to come up with the concept of the bibingcrepe because of their desire to offer something fresh and innovative to their customers.

Phuc Long Vietnamese Coffee
Phuc Long is a Vietnamese tea and coffee brand. I bought a pack when I was in Ho Chi Minh International Airport's Duty Free on my way to Singapore. What really caught my attention was its cute apparatus. When I finally got to brew some at home, both my hubby and I loved its taste and effect! It definitely keeps the drowsiness away without causing our hearts to palpitate. Looks like I'm gonna be needing a lot of Phuc Long pressed coffee to finish all my assignments this week. ^_^

My Disney Mugs & My Iced Coffee
I had a pretty big breakfast this morning. I had an orange, scrambled eggs with lots of tomatoes and onions, toasted slices of meatloaf, rice and a glass of mango juice. I guess they all made me sleepy. Since I need to finish tons of work today, I made myself some iced cold coffee. My hubby taught me how to use the coffee press a long time ago. What I do is put 4 tablespoons of ground coffee beans, 2 tablespoons of cream, 3 tablespoons of muscovado sugar, add a pinch of salt, a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg plus boiling water, mix them well and let it sit for five minutes in the coffee press. Afterward, I press it and voila --- what I have is a nice pot of brewed coffee. That's what I did yesterday. And there was about a mug of coffee left. I placed it in the fridge. This morning, I took my leftover coffee and poured it on my favorite Minnie Mouse coffee mug filled with ice (which I bought in Disneyland, Hong Kong two years ago). It tastes soooo good!!! Too bad Peter didn't go home again last night. So it's just me, my Minnie mug with coffee and Peter's empty Mickey mug. ^_^ Cheers!
